About

Helping students achieve exam success—and giving parents peace of mind

Hi, I’m Will Collier—a qualified teacher, tutor and exam-readiness coach in French, Spanish, and Latin. I specialise in preparing students for GCSE and Common Entrance. I’ve helped dozens of students achieve exam success and win places at prestigious UK schools like Harrow, Winchester, and Rugby. But more than that, I’ve helped students grow in confidence, learn how to learn, and take control of their own progress.

I hold a first-class degree in French and Latin from Oxford University, and I’ve worked across the education sector since graduating—as a schoolteacher, management consultant and, since 2016, a private tutor. I’m trained in safeguarding, with an enhanced DBS check enrolled on the annual update programme – my full safeguarding policy is available on request.

Why I Do This Work

Many parents come to me saying:

“My child’s struggling with languages. I want to help—but I don’t know where to start.”

I completely understand. Languages can be a source of stress and confusion—for both students and parents. That’s why my tutoring focuses not just on academic success, but on giving families the tools and strategies to make language learning manageable, focused, and rewarding.

A Different Kind of Language Support

I take a team approach to language learning – supporting both students and their parents so that:

  • Your child knows what to revise and how to do it effectively
  • You feel confident in how to support your child—even with limited time
  • Everyone feels less stressed and more focused as exams approach

My sessions combine expert knowledge with clear study routines, exam strategies, and personalised support to get real results. Whether it’s GCSE or Common Entrance, my goal is to help every student:

  • Build strong study habits
  • Develop exam readiness
  • And become a more independent, resilient learner

Beyond the Curriculum

Language learning unlocks more than just exam marks—it boosts memory, critical thinking, problem solving, and self-belief. I want my students to carry those benefits into every subject and stage of life.

And a Bit About Me…

Alongside tutoring, I’m the author of Little Linguists’ Library—a picture book series that introduces French and Spanish to primary-age children in a fun, engaging way. When I’m not teaching or writing, I’m most often found spending time with my wife and two daughters, learning New Testament Greek (for fun) or at Prenton Park watching my team Tranmere Rovers (not always for fun)!
